Job Summary
Provides administrative support for the Underwriting department handling electronically received requests via email, fax and/or chat.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Acts as a single point of contact between the Underwriting Department and other business units for process improvement projects.
  • Processes corrections or adjusts records when needed, following the appropriate company guidelines
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to assess complex situations, identify key information, and develop solutions
  • Accurately processing and implementing adjustments to policy coverages in accordance with program guidelines and the policy holder’s request
  • Reviews, organizes and forwards information to be escalated for resolution as needed
  • Adheres to the established productivity and quality metrics established
  • Processes returned mail from post office and maintains records of registered mail, express delivery mail and packages
  • Providing support via chat to assist agents with inquiries and coverage adjustments
  • Other tasks and projects as may be assigned

Essential Functions
  • Ability to use computer systems to process record corrections
  • Ability to understand and interpret written company guidelines
  • Ability to communicate in a professional and clear manner with other departments
  • Ability to handle more than one task simultaneously
  • Ability to type a minimum of 40 WPM
  • Ability to adhere to attendance schedule on-site
  • Ability to obtain resident licensing through the Florida DFS and reciprocal licensing in all 50 states in the continental US

Qualifications
  • 2-3 years previous customer service experience, preferably in a personal line’s homeowners insurance environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Advanced computer skills and insurance systems knowledge 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required
  • Proficient typing skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 WPM
  • Demonstrated customer service focus required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact on a professional level with internal and external personnel and partners
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Results driven with strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized
  • English and Spanish speaking and writing skills desired

Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms

Working conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
